The mixture (for oily skin)
-1 tablespoon olive oil
-3 tablespoons castor oil
-2 drops tea tree essential oil
*If you have dry skin you can use the reverse 3 olive and 1 castor*
Olive oil is super moisturizing and great for sensitive skin, you'll find it in a lot of baby products
Castor oil is very cleansing you'll find it in a lot of shampoo soap bars and handmade soap recipes in general.
1) Pour a small amount of the oil mixture into your hand
2) Rub it all over your face in a circular motion (I have to say for someone with oily skin this feels so weird!)
3) Grab a cotton pad and wipe off the oil, keep in mind not all of it will be gone some will be left on the skin
4) This step is optional but you can put some hot water on a wash cloth and lay it over your face for a steam. I do this about 1/3 of the time
5) You're done!
The next morning
This part was very weird for me since most mornings I would wake up with an oil slick on my face and wash it during my shower followed by moisturizer. However now in the morning I let my face get wet as it normally would in the shower and I leave it. Crazy right? I don't need to use moisturizer on my face anymore.
Ok so what you want to know is is it working? I have to say 100% yes! My face isn't anymore or any less oily throughout the day when I was using a cleaner packed with who knows what and oil controlling lotions. But my face is now comfortable and I have the satisfaction in knowing one this is mega cheap and two that I've crossed off a few more chemicals in my daily routine.
